The 7th Generation Legacy Has Arrived - And it's Boosted

Created on 2019-02-07 by Megan Russell

The Subaru Legacycould not be better named. Since it's introduction in 1989, for 30 years it has played a key role as a family sedan, a road trip go to and even something that the rally world has used to throw around in the dirt a few times with it's successful run in Group A. It is truly a legacy in and of itself.

Tokyo, February 8, 2019 – Subaru Corporation unveiled the all-new US Spec 2020 Legacy Sedan and it is boasting a 2.4-liter turbo boxer engine with improved efficiency thanks to direct injection system. Along with a new turbo motor, the new Legacy has the "Subaru Global Platform" which optimizes the body rigidity and suspension performance.

Subaru had us at power and handling, but it also has us at the upgraded tech goodies. The 2020 Legacy is also stated to have Subaru’s exclusive "EyeSight driver assist system" comes standard in all trims and now equipped for the first time in the U.S. with the "Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control" including new Lane Centering function. Driver monitoring system*1 also supports the safe driving and brings peace of mind to passengers.

The look of the new Legacy can be summed up in Subaru's own words, "larger thickness" and we're all for it! The silhouette of the new Legacy is described to have a sculpted and thicker appearance that is told to provoke "solid toughness and a dynamic active image" - Subaru 2/8/2019. In other words, the new Legacy is three-c's thiccc.

As for the interior you will find a lot of the same upgraded electronic goods that most of the 2020 vehicles are boasting, a 11.6" command display tablet with Apple CarPlay*3, Android-Auto TM*4, the Subaru Starlink now supports Smart Device Link TM*5 which enables the use of various apps regardless of smartphone operating system. Telematics system with additional functions including a Wi-Fi hotspot and remote engine starter! Available is the "Driver Monitoring System", which can alert the driver to signs of drowsiness or distraction on the road.

Another thing we would like to note is the interior of the car looks absolutely stunning! With a full tan-colored Nappa leather seat option, with matching dash and door trim looks like something you would see in an exotic sports car worth 3x the amount of the Legacy.

The 2020 Legacy is said to be released later this spring.
